AI Safety Summit
The AI Safety Summits are bi-annual (approximately every six months) international meetings aimed at discussing the safety, governance and regulation of advanced AI systems — especially so-called “frontier” AI.
Agenda & Discussion Streams
The summit was structured around several roundtables and sessions focusing on different aspects of AI safety. Detailed summaries for each roundtable were published.
Purpose:
The Summit builds on previous gatherings (2023 UK, 2024 Seoul) but places emphasis on action, deployment, inclusivity, and sustainability of AI.

- Statement on Inclusive and Sustainable Artificial Intelligence for People and the Planet – a joint declaration adopted 10-11 February 2025.
- Press release on “AI Convergence” Challenges – a November 2024 call for projects ahead of the Summit.
- Selection of Innovative Projects – The Paris Peace Forum selected 50 projects from 111 countries to be showcased at the Summit.

France (President Emmanuel Macron) and India (Prime Minister Narendra Modi).

- Adoption of ~100 concrete actions to ensure AI serves everyone.
- Launch of initiatives in open safety tools (e.g., the ROOST initiative) and data/ privacy cooperation among data authorities.
- Investment and strategic announcements: France and the EU emphasised making Europe a strong AI hub.
- A Business Day at Station F to connect industry and startups with policy and investment flows.
